Disaster loans have been approved for flood victims in Buffalo County. The U.S. Small Business Administration has accepted Governor Scott Walker’s request for help, after up to eight inches of rain fell in western Wisconsin August 11th.
About 40 percent of Buffalo County’s flood losses were not insured, more than 25 homes and businesses had significant damage, and some of those homes were flooded again in another storm eight days later. Low interest SBA loans of up to $200,00 are available for homeowners, and up to $2-million for businesses. The deadlines to apply are November 21st for physical damage and next June 21st for economic losses.
SBA’s customer service representatives will be available at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center to answer questions about the disaster loan program and help individuals complete their applications.
