If a deal on Packers tickets looks too good to be true, it probably is. Green Bay Police Captain Kevin Warych says some fans have been unable to enter Lambeau Field this season because of counterfeit tickets.
Green Bay police have been investigating reports of counterfeit tickets from the Packers’ first two games, as well as the September 3rd Lambeau Field College Classic between Wisconsin and LSU.
Many of the victims bought their tickets on Craigslist. “Sadly, these victims are out that money,” said Warych.
The internet makes it easier to create and sell counterfeit tickets, police say, but it also makes it easier for ticket buyers to do research and protect themselves.
