Libertarian candidate Phil Anderson won’t be part of tonight’s U.S. Senate Debate in Green Bay. Anderson said his campaign failed to make what he considers an arbitrary fundraising limit set by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
“They set a limt of $250,000 in campaign contributions as the lower threshold to be be invited to the debate, and it’s obvious that campaigns spend money with television stations.” Anderson said. “It doesn’t make sense. You can run a viable campaign without raising that kind of money.
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association sponsored debate between incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and Democrat Russ Feingold begins at 7:00.
“We’re going to answer those same questions that they’re being asked, through our own media,” Anderson said. “The debate that’s being put on isn’t legitimate becaise it’s not including everybody on the ballot and all the viewpoints that are available for people to vote for.”
