A $100,000 cash bond has been set for a 24-year-old man accused of trying to shoot two West Bend police officers. Kody Konzal appeared at a bond hearing in Washington County Court Monday, where prosecutors asked for ten days to investigate the Sunday morning incident.
Criminal charges have not yet been filed, but are expected to include two counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide.
Police were called at around 3:20 a.m. Sunday for reports of gunfire. Responding officers said they arrived to find a man standing in a yard. West Bend Police Chief Ken Meuler said the man, identified as Konzal, pointed a handgun at two officers and attempted to fire at them. The gun apparently malfunctioned.
