State election officials will meet this morning to go over how Wisconsin’s presidential recount will work.
The move follows a request for a recount from Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein and independent “Rocky” Roque De La Fuente last week. Stein is expected to have the funding needed to cover the cost of the process, which state election officials are still calculating.
The requests were prompted by questions about the integrity of voting results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Stein has indicated she plans to request recounts in the other two states as well. All three saw Republican president-elect Donald Trump score narrow victories over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission are expected to approve a timeline that calls for starting the recount this coming Thursday. It would then need to be completed by a federal December 13th deadline.
