Marquette’s in the picture for Uthoff

Marquette University men’s basketball coach Buzz Williams is looking to

Jarrod Uthoff

talk with former Wisconsin Badger forward Jarrod Uthoff.

Uthoff was released from his scholarship by the Wisconsin Badgers and was originally restricted from speaking to Marquette.  However, those restrictions were lifted and now cover only Big Ten Conference institutions.

Uthoff has already visited Iowa State and Creighton and plans to visit Marquette and Florida.

Marquette lost some of their scoring punch with the departures of Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom.

Marquette has added Arizona State transfer Trent Lockett to the men’s basketball roster.  The 6’5 senior guard will arrive on campus this summer and has one season of eligibility remaining.

Lockett started each of his 25 games last season, averaging 13 points and 5.8 rebounds a game.

Ramage to return to Wisconsin

Wisconsin Badger hockey defenseman John Ramage will return for his senior

John Ramage

season.

Ramage was pondering a jump to the NHL after being picked in the 4th round of the 2010 NHL draft by the Calgary Flames.

His return is good news for Coach Mike Eaves, who is expected to lose first-team All-American Justin Schultz to the NHL a year early.

Ramage is a son of 15-year NHL veteran Rob Ramage.  He scored 3 goals and 7 assists in 37 games for the Badgers as a junior.

More game times set for Badger football games

The Badgers Big Ten Conference home opener against Illinois on Oct. 6, will kick off at 2:30pm.

Wisconsin’s Oct. 13th game at Purdue will kick off at 11:00am.

Saint Louis set to hire Stone

According to reports, former Wisconsin women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone

Lisa Stone

has been hired to coach the Saint Louis women’s basketball team.

Stone is expected to be introduced at a news conference later today.

Stone spent eight seasons at Wisconsin before being fired in March of last year.  She went 128-119 with the Badgers.

Badgers get commitment from OT for 2013 season

The Wisconsin Badger coaching staff received an oral commitment for the 2013 freshman class from 6’7, 285 lb. offensive tackle Jake Keeler.

Keeler played at Barrington (Ill.) High School, the same school that produced offensive lineman Dan Voltz, who came to Wisconsin last year.

Keeler picked the Badgers over Missouri, Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska, Tennessee and Miami (Fla.).

Voltz played last fall with Keeler at Barrington, then enrolled at Wisconsin in January.  Voltz is currently No. 2 on the depth chart at center for the Badgers.
