Antigo’s former high school football coach and elementary school principal will stand trial on drug dealing charges.

A judge found enough evidence Thursday to bind 47-year-old John Lund over for trial on charges he dealt marijuana over the last three years. A county drug investigator testified that Lund bought the drug at least twice from his brother-in-law and also sold it to another man.

Lund’s attorney tried to get two of the charges dropped, but prosecutors filed an amended criminal complaint which they said resolved the defense’s issue.

Lund will be arraigned March 19th. He quit his job with the school district last month.

A third man has come forward with allegations against John Chadima, the former senior UW athletic official who resigned last month. UW-Madison police are investigating the latest accusations, which officials have called credible.

Vice Chancellor of University Relations Vince Sweeney says the UW is taking the issue very seriously. He says it’s unfortunate, but officials are committed to following through with all reports made against Chadima.

AUDIO: Vince Sweeney (:10)

Chadima resigned in January for undisclosed reasons. A report later released by the UW detailed allegations that he sexually assaulted a student employee in his hotel while on the road for the Rose Bowl. Officials say Chadima threatened the male student’s job when he rejected him.

The university has been asking anyone with a complaint about Chadima to file a report. So far, two more people have come forward.

The Black River Falls School District says allegations that school bullying led to the overdose suicide of a 16-year-old junior are unfounded. The district’s outside investigator determined Ta’Shika Tengler told school officials about being bullied but that staff handled the incidents according to policy.

AUDIO: Brian Brawner, WWIS

The investigation concluded the school was not at fault in the girl’s death according to.Superintendant Ron Saari. “Basically, the allegations made against the district regarding the incident were unfounded.” Saari says. “There were approximately seven points that were looked atand (with) each one of them there was no evidence to support the allegation. From that standpoint, its a comfort to know that the district did follow it’s policies and did address any issues of bullying that were brought forward in a very timely manner and a very effective manner.”

The school launched the investigation after the girl’s mother accused school officials of doing nothing to stop more than two years worth of verbal and physical bullying despite the girl’s pleas for help. Saari said the school district is still sympathetic to the loss of one of their students and to the loss to the family.

Tengler was found dead at home November 10th. The death remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation

Former Village President Allan Acker, after the meeting, told the horde of reporters the process has to play itself out, but this certainly has cast a shadow on the community.

Jansen’s bond with a formal charge of Stalking was set at $1,000. The criminal complaint alleged he just couldn’t give up the fact his ex-girlfriend wanted nothing more to do with him.

Steve Jansen is President in the Village of Sturtevant, a community of about 7,000, just west of Racine. He’s been in jail since his arrest Sunday for allegedly not leaving his ex-girlfriend alone.

Mount Pleasant Police, the arresting agency, indicates the stalking scenario dates back to last fall. The 52-year-old Jansen, who’s been in office since 2003, will make a first court appearance this afternoon, ahead of tonight’s Village Board meeting, which holds obvious new interest.

More allegations against a former UW Madison athletic official. The UW Police Department is investigating a second allegation involving John Chadima and an adult male. That’s according to a statement released by interim Madison Chancellor David Ward. Ward says police have corroborated many details of this latest allegation and believe it to be credible, and like in the Rose Bowl case, the individual was told of his legal right to press charges, but has chosen not to do so.

Ward is asking for another independent investigation in this matter and urges any who may have been a victim or anyone with information about inappropriate conduct with Chadima to come forward. Chadima resigned from his position as an associate athletic director, late last month after the Rose Bowl incident came to light. A male student, who also works in the athletic department, says after a party in Chadima’s hotel suite, Chadima put his hands down his pants and threatened his job. Chadima had worked for the university for over 20 years.

Whether or not a fear factor remains on the Kenosha campus, after last week’s threats is still to be determined, but students begin this new week knowing the situation appears over.

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth believes charges from the district attorney’s office are warranted against a female student, who confessed to creating a second noose made of rubber bands and racially threatening fliers for a residence hall. The sheriff says “too many people were frightened and upset not to file charges.”

The student was reportedly upset more wasn’t done with the initial discovery of a noose-like display of rubber bands in that same residence hall. The student’s name was among the 13 listed on the flier, which led detectives to her.

The young woman was to be removed from campus, according to Parkside officials, who reiterate there was no actual threat.

Safety concerns are raised at a college campus in Kenosha because of perceived racial threats. A noose made of rubber bands, found by an African-American female student in a UW-Parkside residence hall, leads to the young woman receiving a threatening note. It was followed Thursday night by threatening flyers against black students in the same building.

Edward Twyman, Parkside’s Senior Diversity Officer, said faculty members are using class time to discuss the issue while officials look to promote tolerance and respect.

“We’re using this incident as a chance to make changes on campus that will make Parkside a better place for everyone,” said Twyman.

Cindy Graham, Interim Dean of Students, said campus police are coordinating with the UW-Milwaukee police department to send additional officers to Parkside for surveillance.

An elementary principal and head football coach for the Unified School District of Antigo has resigned while facing marijuana charges. The district’s board of education approved the resignation of John Lund during a special meeting Thursday evening.

In a letter submitted this week Lund said his career has been a “varied and rewarding one”, adding he greatly enjoyed working with everyone in the district and will especially miss the students.

Lund’s resignation comes after being on administrative leave for the past two months for his alleged connection to illegal drug activity in the area. Back on January he was charged with eight counts related to marijuana possession, delivery and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Lund will be back in Langlade County Court February 9 for his preliminary hearing on the charges.

In a statement the district says a search for a new principal and football coach will begin shortly.

Four other district members remain on paid administrative leave. The district is continuing their internal investigation on their alleged involvement in the illegal drug situation. No decision was made last evening regarding their status and none is expected until later this month.
