Finley gets 2-year deal with the Packers

Jermichael Finley is in the fold with the Green Bay Packers for the next two

seasons.  The two sides came to terms on a 2-year deal worth a reported $14-million contract, avoiding possible arbitration over the franchise designation and a possible long holdout.

Had the two sides not been able to reach a deal before March 5, the Packers would have been forced to use the franchise tag on Finley.

Now the Packers could use that franchise tag on backup free agent quarterback Matt Flynn with a possible sign and trade deal to follow.

Packers stock now headed to Canada

With 17,000 shares available and the Green Bay Packers cutting off the teams most recent stock sale on Feb. 29th, the team is extending the boundaries into Canada.

Packers fans in Canada now have the chance to purchase shares after the team has clarified Canadian regulatory requirements.

The cost of a share in Canada is the same as the U.S., $250 with a U.S. $35 handling charge per transaction.

U.S. residents can continue to purchase stock as well.

All proceeds from the offering will go toward the expansion of Lambeau Field, a $143 million project that includes approximately 6,700 seats, new video boards and two new gates, and will be complete in time for the 2013 season.
