As a young college radio reporter in Milwaukee, I remember attending a draft day news conference for the Bucks. I made the mistake of placing my microphone on a table in front of a camera shot for one of the local tv stations. The camera man reached out and threw my microphone on the floor with a few expletives. Before I could even react, Jim Irwin, picked the mic up from the floor and placed it in a less conspicuous spot telling me not to worry about it. We could use more gentlemen like him. It was the only time our paths crossed, but I remember the kindness.

Packers haven't got the fortitude to beat the Bears nonetheless the Lions and go into the playoffs with the proper winning attitude. The funk they were in during the KC game seems to be carrying over.

I agree with you 100%. However, the University needs to pay the bills. The way to guarantee a certain number of home games every year is to find low profile teams to show up at the Kohl Center to take their beating and not expect a home game in return. Large schools like Wisconsin guarantee the Savannah State's of the world a certain amount of money from the gate to show up and not expect anything in return.

Unfortunately, caught up in the many bad preseason basketball games on the schedule is the season ticket holder. Packers' fans experience the same thing. If you want to hang on to your tickets, you have to pay for the preseason game as well. We all know how exciting those games are.

Watching last night's game against Savannah State, I wonder if next year they're going to start including local high schools in their basketball schedule. I'm sure hope someone can do a much better job of scheduling teams to make the game more interesting for the paying UW fans.

Yes they are, but they're undefeated inspite of the decision to defer to the second half. The Packers have started fast the last few games and Aaron Rodgers is the best in the business. Why would you not want the ball in his hands right off the bat. It may mean an extra possession in the end.

This is going to be a tough season to predict with so many unknowns. I expect Butler to be good but if there is any time in the near future where someone could outright win the title from them this would be it. Detroit is extremely talented but they have been for the past few years and have yet to put anything together. Milwaukee definitely isn't a favorite but I'm sure they have their eyes on that NCAA tournament appearance this season.

I have had the pleasure to know Gary personally. Not only was he a great groundskeeper who I could tell everyone enjoyed working for and with him. Gary was also a great Husband, Father and Grandpa. Even with the sickness I could still see the joy he had when he was around his Wife, Sons and Grand Daughters. He will be greatly missed but also greatly remebered as well

Hey Guys,
My family and a couple of friends attended the pre party
for Rivera and Henderson, it was fun and we got to meet other
Packer players that where there. What a great bunch of guys.
We bought a camera pass and took some awesome pictures
with all the players. This was a once in a lifetime event for
me and the family. The players where very friendly to all and
we got to hang out with some of the players like we had knew
them for years, thats funny we have known them for years, we
just didn't meet them. Now that we hung out with them our
soul for the Packers runs wild, our blood flows green and gold
for the rest of our lives... What a great thing that I was able to
attend and share with my kids.
                                                                 Thxs
                                                                       Leroy
