The Green Bay Packers have decided that Scott Tolzien is ready to take over the reigns as the teams backup quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers.
Tolzien agreed to terms on a 1-year, $1.35 million deal on Saturday night (first reported by WTMJ-TV’s Lance Allen). He’s expected to sign the deal before the start of free agency on Tuesday.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the Packers informed Matt Flynn on Sunday that they were going with Tolzien and would not resign him.
Tolzien has been with the Packers since early in the 2013 season, signing the former Badger after the Packers cut Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman. [Read more…]
