As states work to stop the spread of Asian Carp into the Great Lakes, Wisconsin continues to ponder its role in the debate.

Several states have filed lawsuits with the US Supreme Court to close the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, where Asian Carp have been found. They’re urging the high court to grant an injunction. Several groups, including Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, have called on Wisconsin to join the legal fight. [click to continue…]

A possible return for lawmakers

Lawmakers could be back at the Capitol before the end of the year.
Members of the state Assembly have been told to keep their calendars open on December 16 for a possible special session of the Legislature. If they come back, Governor Jim Doyle is hopeful they’ll take care of some unfinished business.

Doyle wants more education reforms

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says he’s still undecided about a run for governor.
