sprain in the NFC Divisional playoff loss to the New York Giants.  Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Kuhn would not be able to play in the upcoming Pro Bowl in Honolulu.

Wide receiver Greg Jennings suffered a rib contusion in that game, but coach McCarthy said he expects Jennings will be able to play on the Pro Bowl.

Seven Packers earn Pro Bowl selections

The Green Bay Packers have seven of their players represent them on the 2011-12 NFC Pro Bowl team.  The Packers learned that wide receiver Greg Jennings, fullback John Kuhn, linebacker Clay Matthews, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, nose tackle B.J. Raji, center Scott Wells and cornerback Charles Woodson were named Pro Bowl selections by the National Football League.  Kuhn, Matthews, Rodgers and Woodson were named starters for the NFC.

Kicker Mason Crosby was named first alternate.  Other alternates include linebacker Desmond Bishop, returner Randall Cobb, tight end Jermichael Finley, wide receiver Jordy Nelson, guard Josh Sitton and cornerback Tramon Williams.

The seven players are the most the Packers have had voted into the Pro Bowl since 1967.

John Kuhn, B.J. Raji and Scott Wells are all first time Pro Bowl selections.

Packers dodge a bullet with Jennings

Fearing that the Packers could be without wide receiver Greg Jennings for the

Greg Jennings

rest of the season, the Green Bay Packers received some good news on the injury front on Monday.

The Packers learned that Jennings, who suffered a sprained knee, would only be without their star receiver for 2 to 3 weeks, which means he’ll be back and ready to go for the playoffs.  Mike McCarthy knows his team dodged a bullet.

Packers’ Green is done for the season

Green Bay Packers’ rookie running back Alex Green is done for the remainder

Greg Jennings

of the season after suffering a left knee injury on a first quarter kickoff.  Green will require surgery, but a procedure hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Green will be placed on injured reserve and miss the rest of the season.  Because the Packers are in their bye week, there’s no rush to make a roster move.

Greg Jennings had x-rays on his hand on Monday, but they turned up negative.  Jennings suffered a hand bruise instead of a break.  He’ll be able to return to practice with the team next week.

Defensive back Sam Shields has also been cleared (concussion) for action.  He’ll return to practice with the team next week.

Rodgers digs Packers out of early hole

The Atlanta Falcons did everything they could to get off to a good start on the

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers.  They jumped out to a 14-0 lead, hitting on several key plays along the way.  But the Falcons cooled off and the Packers offense picked up the pace and rebounded for a 25-14 win in Atlanta.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 396 yards and two touchdowns, hitting James Jones for 70 yards and Greg Jennings for 29 yards.

Rodgers completed passes to 12 different receivers.  James Jones led the way with 5 receptions for 140 yards.  Jennings and tight end Jermichael Finley caught 4 passes each.

The Falcons struggled to pressure the quarterback since week 1, but they got some pressure on Rodgers last night.  However, Rodgers maintained his composure and led the Packers to 25-straight points in pulling out the win.
