Bucks head into break on skid

The Milwaukee Bucks head into the all-star break dropping 6 of their last 7 games, including last night’s 110-91 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Carlos Boozer had 20 points for the Bulls, who improved to 3-0 against the Bucks this season.  Six Bulls scored in double figures against the Bucks, including all five starters.

Brandon Jennings had 20 in the loss for the Bucks, who head into the all-star break with a 13-20 record.  Ersan Ilyasova added 15 points and rookie Jon Leuer added 14. 

The Bucks are off until next Tuesday when they host Washington at the Bradley Center.

 

Skiles wins his 400th career game as head coach

Scott Skiles became the 39th NBA coach to win 400 games.  He did it last night

when the Milwaukee Bucks knocked off the Detroit Pistons 102-93 at the Bradley Center.

Brandon Jennings scord 27 points and Stephen Jackson added 25 to lead the Bucks.

Former Badger Jon Leuer got his first NBA start.  He scored 15 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.

The Bucks improved to 4-0 at home this season.  They’re (4-6 overall) 0-6 on the road.  The Bucks are right back at it tonight, in Dallas to face the Mavericks.

The Milwaukee Bucks let a 14-point lead slip away in their season opening loss

at Charlotte on Monday.  They almost let a 20-point lead get away in the home opener at the Bradley Center but held on for a 98-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Former Badger Jon Leuer’s 3-point play with 1:17 left helped the Bucks hang on and even their record at 1-1 to start the season.  Leuer finished with 14-points on 5 of 7 shooting from the field.  He pulled down 8-rebounds.

Brandon Jennings scored 24 and Stephen Jackson 16 points to lead the Bucks, who were playing without forward Drew Gooden because of a suspension and several other key players due to injury. [Read more...]

Bucks fall to T-Wolves in preseason opener

The Milwaukee Bucks lost their preseason opener, 117-96 to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night in Minneapolis. 

Minnesota hit 15 of 24 from 3-point range.  Kevin Love and Michael Beasley scored 21 each for the Timber Wolves, while rookie Derrick Williams scored 14 points.  Spanish guard Ricky Rubio made his NBA debut with 6 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. 

Minnesota went up 10 points at the half after going on a 34-14 run. 

Former Badger Jon Leuer scored a team-leading 18 points in just 22 minutes.  Mike Dunleavy Jr scored 16 points and Carlos Delfino added 11.

The two teams turn around and close out the preseason with the annual MACC Fund game on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center.

 

Leuer to join Bucks for training camp

Former Badger basketball star Jon Leuer  had been playing in Germany.  He’ll return to Milwaukee in time for the start of Milwaukee Bucks training camp on Friday.  Leuer was the Bucks second round pick in this years NBA Draft. The Bucks will play two preseason games against the Minnesota Timberwolves.  They’ll open their season at Charlotte on Monday, December 26th.
