Milwaukee hosted “Brewers on Deck” Sunday (AUDIO)

Their are many things that signify baseball season is near.  On of those in Milwaukee is “Brewers on Deck” which was held Sunday at the Delta centers.  Thousands of fans had an opportunity to meet with players, get pictures and obtain autographs in preparation for the 2013 season.

Slugger Ryan Braun was one of the numerous players and front office staff on hand for the festivities.  Braun is coming off a career best 41-homers in 2012 which helped him to a 2nd place finish in the National League MVP balloting.  There are very few, if any, weaknesses in Braun’s game but he is hoping to improve:

Axford blows another save (AUDIO)

For the 6th time in 22-chances this season, John Axford entered the game with Brewers leading and he couldn’t hold on.  Milwaukee fell to the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 Monday night at Miller Park.  Axford gave up all three runs with two-outs.

Axford started the inning by walking Matt Carpenter before getting Lance Berkman and Carlos Beltran to fly out.  Rafeal Furcal then had an infield single followed by another Axford walk, this time to Skip Schumacker.  Matt Holiday then connected on a 2-RBI single followed by an Allen Craig blooper for the game winner before Kameron Loe came in to get the final out.  Axford called it his worse outing of the season…

Marlins Shutout the Brewers (Audio)

Mark Buehrle had the Brewers number Thursday as the (40-42) Miami Marlins blanked the (38-44) Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 at Miller Park.  The win gave Miami a split of the 4-game series.

Buehrle went 7 2/3 innings allowing just 6-hits while striking out 8-batters as his record improved to 8-8 on the season.  Michael Fiers had a solid start for Milwaukee but got nothing in the run support column.  He lasted 7 1/3 allowing 2-runs on 7-hits while striking out 9-batters but fell to 3-3 on the season.  Brewers Manager on Ron Roenicke was happy with Mike Fiers performance…
