USA Basketball announced today the 12 players who will represent the United States at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 15-21.
Among the 12 is former Marquette standout Jimmy Butler, who plays with the Chicago Bulls.
Also named to the squad is Carmelo Anthony (N.Y. Knicks), Harrison Barnes (Golden State), DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento) DeMar DeRozan (Toront0), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City), Paul George (Indiana), Draymond Green (Golden State), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland), DeAndrew Jordan (LA Clippers), Kyle Lowry (Toronto) and Clay Thompson (Golden State).
The average age of the 12 U.S. players will be 26.8 years at the conclusion of the Olympics. [Read more…]
