One of the Shawano men involved in a gunfight earlier this month will stand trial. In court Monday, Tony Brunker pleaded not guilty in the January 4 incident. Brunker is due back in court March 8.

According to prosecutors, the altercation stemmed from a dispute between Brunker and a group of people at a downtown bar. At that time, the rear window of Brunker’s pickup truck was broken out.

Later police say the 23-year-old Brunker drove past a home on Richmond Street, when he and Anthony Thomas began shooting at each other. Thomas told police he fired first, according to the criminal complaint.

No one was injured. Thomas returns to court for the balance of his initial appearance on February 1.
