Abbotsford wins first ever baseball title

June 16, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Last year, Abbotsbord finished the 2005 WIAA Baseball championships as a runnerup in division 3. With an expanded four division format this year, the Falcons jumped out to a 10-1 lead on Shell Lake and went on to beat the Lakers 10-7 in the Divison 4 championship at Fox Cities Stadium. Abbotsford (21-1) stole 10 bases, including four during a key 5-run fourth inning. Shell Lake entered the post season with a 6-12 record and advanced all the way to the title game, ending their season at 11-13.
