Marquette's Novak goes early second round in NBA Draft

June 29, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Marquette's 6'9 forward Steve Novak was projected to go in the NBA Draft somewhere in the late first round to early second round. That projection held true when Novak heard his name called by the NBA, going to the Houston Rockets with the 2nd pick of round 2, 32nd overall. Novak became the third Marquette player in the last four years to be drafted. He sank a school record 354 three-pointers and shot 93% from the free-throw line in his four-year college career.
