Things are looking up for Stricker

June 19, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Steve Stricker didn't win the U.S. Open, but he did enough to likely get him back into the full golf swing, at least in the next year. Stricker finished the open at 8-over, 3-shots behind winner Geoff Ogilvy. He pockets over $183,000 and moves up to 59th ont he PGA Tour money list with $735,119 which make him a likely shoe-in for exempt status on the 2007 PGA Tour. Stricker also earns an invitation to next years U.S. Open and a spot in the 2007 Masters. It's the 3rd time that Stricker has finished in the top 10 at the U.S. Open, garnering a pair of 5th place finishes previously.
