Three Badgers selected in NHL Draft

Three future Wisconsin men's hockey players that were taken in the 2nd round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Defenseman Nigel Williams was taken in the 2nd round by the Colorado Avalanche, forward Blake Gueffrion was selected five picks later by the Nashville Predators and defenseman Jamie McBain was taken by the defending NHL Champion Carolina Hurricanes. The three second round selections mark the first time in school history the Badgers have had three skaters drafted in the top two rounds in one year. All three have already signed national letters of intent and are expected to join the NCAA-champion Badgers in the fall.
