Brewers Minor League System Strong

July 20, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers are starting to see the fruits of their strong minor league system at the Major League level. With highly touted players like Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Corey Hart and JJ Hardy already in the Big Leagues, the Brewers could see more prospects in Milwaukee in the future. Brewers Director of Player Development Reid Nichols says that there are many prospects in the Brewers system that he likes. He says that there are a few catching prospects that could answer the team's problems at that position in the future. He's also been impressed with #1 pick Jeremy Jeffress this season. Nichols also thinks that former #1 pick Mark Rogers is developing nicely and Double-A prospect Yavoni Gallardo could be in the Big Leagues by the end of the season.
