Capuano named to all-star team

July 10, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Brewers left-hander Chris Capuano was selected to the National League All-Star squad on Sunday, replacing Mets lefty Tom Glavine, who is unable to pitch because he started for the Mets on Sunday. Capuano finished the first half 10-4 with a 3.21 ERA in 19 starts. He leads the majors with 17 quality starts, including 11 in a row to begin the season. He also ranks 2nd in innings pitched, tied for third with his 10 victories. Capuano was named the National League Player of the Week for April 24-30 and was named the Brewers pitcher of the month for each of the first three months of the season.
