Jennings becomes 6th draft pick to sign with Packers

July 25, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers signed 2nd round pick, wide receiver Greg Jennings to a contract yesterday. Jennings was the 52nd player selected in the April draft and is expected to contribute immediately for the Packers. Green Bay now has a total of 6 draft picks under contract with six more yet to be signed with the Friday start of training camp fast approaching. Jennings is the only first day pick to have signed a contract, which means the team must still complete a deal with top pick A.J. Hawk. — The Packers also released tight end Garrett Cross on Monday.
