Packer Draft Pick Avoids Jail

July 5, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Packers 4th round draft pick Cory Rodgers will avoid jail time on a gun charge. Rodgers gets 15 months probation, a $500 fine, and 80 hours of community service for pleading guilty to the misdemeanor charge after an incident at a Waco, Texas night club in May. Reports say Rodgers fired a gun in the air after a fight broke out. His lawyer says the gun was fired to scare away a group of people surrounding him.
