Roman Cut…Draft Picks Signed

July 28, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Packers cut veteran safety Mark Roman on Thursday. Roman has verbally stated how upset he was about the Packers signing free agent safety Marquand Manuel in the offseason. Manuel was listed at #1 on the depth chart as Training Camp opens. Roman came to the Packers as a free agent in 2004. Green Bay also signed a pair of draft picks on Thursday. 2nd round pick Daryn Colledge and 5th round QB Ingle Martin agreed to contracts on Thursday. That leaves 1st round selection AJ Hawk and 3rd round pick Abdul Hodge as the only unsigned Packer draft picks. Head Coach Mike McCarthy was confident on Thursday that Hawk would be signed before the team's first workout tonight.
