Sheets Returns…Brewers Lose

July 26, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Despite a solid return to the rotation by Ben Sheets, the Brewers were beaten by Pittsburgh 6-1 on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Sheets struck out five and gave up just one run and six hits in seven innings of work last night. He gave way to Dave Bush in the 8th, who was tagged for 5 runs, including a 3-run blast by Jeromy Burnitz. Burnitz also homered earlier in the game. Derrick Turnbow pitched a scoreless 9th as he tries to get back to his All-Star form. Ian Snell picked up the win, going seven innings, and giving up just one run and four hits. That run was a solo homer by Prince Fielder. The Brewers and Pirates wrap up their series this afternoon at Miller Park.
