Turnbow Blows Another Save

July 20, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Brewers closer Derrick Turnbow blew another save in a 7-6 loss to San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon. Ray Durham's 2-run single in the 9th proved the game winner for the Giants. Milwaukee looked like they were on their way to an easy win after the team's offense spotted started Doug Davis a 6-1 lead after 2 and a half innings. Carlos Lee, Bill Hall and Gabe Gross all hit homers for Milwaukee. Rookie Tony Gwynn, Junior had his first Major League hit last night with a pinch-hit double in the 9th. That hit came exactly 24 years to the day of his father's first Big League hit with San Diego. The Brewers are off today. They open up a three game series in Cincinnati on Friday night.
