Winkelsas Retires

July 5, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Former Brewer reliever Joe Winkelsas has called it a career. The 32-year-old retired from baseball on Monday after continued struggles since being demoted to Triple-A Nashville. Winkelsas was promoted from Double-A to the Brewers in May where he went 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in seven outings in the Big Leagues. He was later sent back down to Triple-A.
