Badger Volleyball team picked 2nd in Big Ten

The University of Wisconsin volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the 2006 Big Ten Conference race, according to a preseason poll by the league coaches. Three time defending Big Ten champion Penn State was picked as the preseason favorite to win the conference title. After the Badgers, Minnesota is picked 3rd and Ohio State 4th. Wisconsin opens the 2006 season on Aug. 25-26 when it hosts the AVCA College Volleyball Showcase in the UW Field House. The tournament features third-ranked Washington, 8th ranked Texas, 9th ranked Wisconsin and 15th ranked Ohio University.
