Brewers fail to score, drop 6th in a row

August 31, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers ran their losing streak to 6-straight games, falling to the Houston Astros 1-0 in Houston on Wednesday night. Mike Lamb scored the games only run with two outs in the 9th inning. Aubrey Huff hit a grounder to first that was fielded by Jeff Cirillo. Cirillo stepped on first for an out, then threw home trying to nail Lamb and extend the game, but the throw was late. Roger Clemens and Dave Bush both pitched 7 innings and weren't involved in the decision. Clemens allowed 3-hits and struck out 9. Bush allowed just 2 hits and struck out 4. Jose Capellan took the loss, falling to 2-1. The final game of the series is tonight in Houston.
