Brewers hang on for win before full house at Miller Park

August 11, 2006 By WRN Contributor

After jumping out to a 8-1 lead, the Milwaukee Brewers had to hang on for an 8-6 win at Miller Park yesterday. Doug Davis pitched 7 solid innings to pick up his 3rd straight win and 8th of the season. Francisco Cordero earned his 5th straight save for the Brewers since joining the team. David Bell, Tony Graffanino and Kevin Mench each drove in a pair of runs for the Brewers, who took 2 of 3 from the Cubs. Milwaukee picked up a game in the wild card standings, trailing Cincinnati by 4 1/2 games.
