Brewers slide continues with loss to Cubs

August 9, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers continue their fall, losing to the Cubs 6-3 last night. Tomo Ohka gave up five runs in the first and all six runs total through four innings in taking the loss. He gave up a pair of two run homers to Jacque Jones and John Mabry. The loss dropped the Brewers 8-games below the .500 mark and 5 1/2 games behind Cincinnati in the wild card race. Four Brewers relievers pitched five scoreless innings to hold the Brewers in it, but they couldn't come up with enough offense to beat the Cubs. Gabe Gross and Bill Hall homered in the loss.
