Mehlhaff named to Lou Groza "watch list"

August 21, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin Junior placekicker Taylor Mehlhaff, has been named to the preseason “watch list” for the Lou Groza Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top placekicker. Mehlhaff, a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota, was Wisconsin's second-leading scorer in 2005 with 98 points, the second-most in school history by a kicker and fifth-most overall. He set school records for extra points made and attempted (56 of 58). The watch list is composed of the top 30 preliminary candidates for the 15th annual Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicer Award.
