Packers face Bengals tonight

August 28, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Packers and Bengals will both see some new faces in their lineup when the two teams hook up in Cincinnati in Monday Night Football tonight. Carson Palmer returns to the Bengals lineup for the first time since undergoing offseason knee surgery. He was hurt in the Bengals playoff loss to the Steelers last season. For the Packers, Ahman Green, Brady Poppinga and Marquand Manuel will play for the first time in pre-season. Green returns from a quadriceps injury, Poppinga is coming off knee surgery and Manuel missed much of the early portion of training camp with a calf injury. With the Packers closing out the preseason on Friday at home against Tennessee, their starters will play well into the 3rd quarter tonight and will see very little playing time on Friday. The Packers are 1-1 in the preseason and hoping to use tonight's game as a final tuneup for their starters for the start of the regular season against the Bears.
