Packers get ready for Falcons on Saturday night

August 18, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers wrapped up their practice week on Thursday night with their final night time workout of training camp. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the night time sessions have been a hit with the fans and the team and will definitely be back next year. — McCarthy said running back Samkon Gado and wide receiver Robert Ferguson both could play Saturday night against the Falcons. Both players made it through the practice week in good shape. Gado had been bothered by a groin injury and Ferguson a back injury. — Does Dave Rayner have what it takes to be the next kicker of the Green Bay Packers? The Packers will find out after releasing Billy Cundiff on Thursday. Rayner spent his only season in the NFL as a kickoff specialist with the Indianapolis Colts.
