Sheets struggles with velocity, Brewers fall to Astros

August 18, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Ben Sheets said he felt fine, yet he had little velocity on his pitches last night, surrendering 7 runs and 10 hits in a 7-3 Brewers loss to the Houston Astros. The win for the Astros ended a 5-game losing streak. Sheets fast ball reached 92 and 93 miles per hour, but for the most part, were around 88 to 89 mph. Sheets served up home runs to Lance Berkman and Aubrey Huff. Corey Hart homered for the Brewers in the loss. The Brewers continue to miss golden opportunities to pick up ground in the wildcard race. They are 4 1/2 games off the wildcard lead. The two teams play again tonight.
