Stricker 7th at PGA, left off Ryder Cup Team

August 21, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman said Steve Stricker has played well enough for strong consideration to be added as a captains choice to the Ryder Cup Team, but in the end, Lehman went elsewhere with his selections. He instead selected Stewart Cink and Scott Verplank. Cink has been playing well, but Verplan missed the cut at this week's PGA Championship. — Stricker shot a final round 3-under par 69 on Sunday at the PGA Championship. That was good for a tie for 7th place at 10-under par for the tournament.
