It was one of those special performances that the Brewers haven't seen nearly enough of from their starting pitchers this season. Ben Sheets took a perfect game into the 7th and promptly gave up a single to Chris Duffy. Sheets then picked Duffy off first base and struck out the next two batters to get out of the inning. Ryan Doumit then spoiled Sheets' shutout with a home run in the 8th but the Brewers held on for the 2-1 win. Solo home runs by Geoff Jenkins and Prince Fielder gave Sheets the early 2-0 lead that turned out to be enough for the win. The Brewers dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-3 as Chris Capuano took the loss. Capuano has just one win since the all-star break. It's just the fourth win in the last 19 games for the Brewers, who are off today.
