Dayne signs with Houston

September 5, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Former Wisconsin Badger running back Ron Dayne wasn't without a job for very long. Two days after being released by the Denver Broncos, Dayne signed with the Houston Texans. It's the third stop for Dayne, who was originally taken by the New York Giants with the 11th overall pick in the 2000 draft. Dayne won the 1999 Heisman Trophy at Wisconsin and left college as the NCAA's career rushing leader. He had just 12 yards on 5 carries in the preseason with Denver.
