September 25, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Madison area native Matt Kenseth remains in 3rd place in the Nextel Cup points standings after a 10th place finish yesterday at the Dover 400. Kenseth ran out of gas with two laps to go, allowing Jeff Burton to take the checkered flag. Kenseth is 18-points off the leading pace set by Burton in the Chase for the Championship. — At Road America in Elkhart Lake, A.J. Allmendinger passed Sebastien Bourdais with seven laps to go and held on to win the Champ Car Grand Prix of Road America. Bourdais still holds a commanding 58-point lead over Allmendinger with two races to go.
