La Follette wins Democratic nomination for Secretary of State

September 13, 2006 By WRN Contributor

With an overwhelming number of voters behind him, incumbent Secretary of State Doug La Follette will again run in the general election for an office he's held since 1982. He says he's honored the voters have recognized his years of public service.

La Follette defeated challenger Scot Ross in Tuesday's primary election. Ross feels he ran a strong campaign and managed to bring a number of important issues before the voters.

La Follette says he looks forward to the continued support of Wisconsin voters in the coming campaign. He'll now face Republican Sandy Sullivan and Wisconsin Green Michael La Forest in November.
