Fond du Lac's “Miracle Mile” is back with a celebration honoring the “100 Miracles,” the group of 100 Sargento Foods Employees who purchased a $208.6 million Powerball ticket last month. Wisconsin Lottery Director Michael Edmonds welcomed about 75 of the winners and a gathering of hundreds on Main Street on Wednesday morning. It took place in front of Ma & Pa's Grocery Express, where the winning ticket was purchased.
Mary Entringer and another co-worker purchased the tickets and rubbed the belly of a “Buddha” statue for good luck. Entringer says she's happy so many people will be able to share in the bounty gained from the winning ticket.
The “Miracle Mile” was also home to a $111 million Powerball jackpot win in July of 1993. Phil Moses, General Manager of Ma & Pa's, says the latest win on the mile won't be the last.
All but three of the winners are still working the second shift at Sargento in Plymouth.
