New license plate honors Wisconsin veterans

September 18, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Starting Monday, Wisconsin motorists can order a new license plate that honors the state's veterans. The new plate features a white background with black lettering. It includes a bald eagle surrounded by the US and Wisconsin flags. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary John Scocos says it's being made available to all Wisconsinites, not just veterans.

Scocos says a $15 issuance fee goes into the state's Veterans Trust Fund, which helps provide programs that benefit veterans living in Wisconsin. The Secretary says the plate is a great way to honor those veterans living in Wisconsin.
