Packers send Gado to Houston

September 14, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers send backup running back Samkon Gado to the Houston Texans for running back Vernand Morency. Gado was one of a few bright spots in the Packers' 4-12 season last year, rushing for 582 yards and eight touchdowns after being promoted from the practice squad. But Gado had trouble adjusting to the new offensive scheme designed by Packers coach Mike McCarthy. Morency rushed for 184 yards and two-touchdowns on 46 carries last season after being taken by the Texans in the third round of the 2005 draft.
