Poppinga hangs onto his job for now

September 21, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Green Bay Packers linebacker Brady Poppinga is keeping his starting job for now. Poppinga will make his third straight start at strongside linebacker when the Packers face the Lions in Detroit on Sunday. Poppinga has made mistakes in coverage in each of the first two games against the Bears and Saints. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said they might try to use backup Ben Taylor in some situations.
