Turnbow struggles in Brewers loss to the Cardinals

September 20, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Jeff Weaver tossed six strong innings to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 12-2 win over the Brewers at Miller Park. With the win, the Cardinals reduced their magic number to 6 to win the National League Central. Ben Sheets gave up four runs and 10 hits in 6 innings and the Cardinals broke it open with a 6-run 7th against Brewers reliever Derrick Turnbow. Sheets struck out 8 and walked only 1, but the Brewers have dropped 18 of their last 24. Turnbow last just 1/3 inning for the Brewers. The final game of the series is tonight.
