Badger hockey women win 19th straight

October 22, 2006 By WRN Contributor

First-year player Meghan Duggan scored a pair of goals to lead the top-ranked Wisconsin Badger women's hockey team to a 3-1 win over Minnesota.  The Badgers move to 5-0-0 in the WCHA and 7-0-0 overall, and ran their nation's best win streak to 19-straight games.

The Badgers outshot the Gophers 36-14 and kept Minnesota to no more than five shots in a period.  Madison native Jessie Vetter stopped 13 shots in goal and improved to 4-0 on the season.  The Two teams play again today (Sunday) at 2pm at the Kohl Center.
