Dowell racks up 2nd 2-goal night

October 22, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Wisconsin Badger men's hockey team (3-1-2, 2-1-1 WCHA ) bounced back from Friday night's tie to beat Minnesota-Duluth 5-2 at the Kohl Center on Saturday night.  Badger freshmen Ben Grotting and Jamie McBain both scored their first career goals as Badgers.

Senior Jake Dowell from La Crosse added two goals, his second 2-goal performance of the season for the Badgers.  UW's senior goaltender Brian Elliott stopped 34 Bulldog shots to pick up the win in goal.

The Badgers went 2 for 5 on the power play, while the Bulldogs were 2 of 6.

The Badgers continue their long homestand when they host Boston College at the Kohl Center this Friday and Saturday.
