Doyle meets with school officials on safety

October 18, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Governor Jim Doyle joins school officials in Wausau, to look at how to improve school safety. A series of conferences is being held across the state, in the wake of fatal school shootings across the US and in Wisconsin. Governor Doyle joined school officials in Wausau Tuesday to discuss current efforts and safe school plans.

Doyle says all schools should have a plan in place already, but the state is urging districts to update those policies. He says there's concern some districts may not be keeping their plans current. Also, Doyle says recent fatal shootings should serve as a reminder that no plan is ever perfect and districts should always be looking for ways to improve them.
