Herron has career rushing day for Packers

October 9, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers didn't know they wouldn't have Ahman Green until pre-game warmups. Then their next choice at runningback, Vernand Morency fumbled on the opening possession. Then Mike McCarthy benched Morency in favor of Noah Herron who responded in a big way. Herron rushed for 106 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in the Packers 23-20 loss. Both are career highs. Herron's label is that he has no speed, but he managed to hit every hole and pick up some big gains for the Packers ground game.
